The highest values ​​were reported from the districts of Germersheim (126.3) and Altenkirchen (107.1).

The value is lowest in the city of Kaiserslautern and in the district of Bernkastel-Wittlich with 13.1 each.

The 7-day incidence is the number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days.

The number of deaths related to the coronavirus rose by 29 to 3124. Currently, 5596 people in the country are infected with the Sars-CoV-2 virus.

Of the detected infections, 401 were classified as a "worrying variant" on Tuesday, and there was a corresponding suspicion of a further 1220 infections.

The term refers to cases like the coronavirus variants first discovered in the UK and South Africa, which are considered more contagious.

In the intensive care units in Rhineland-Palatinate, 97 people were treated for Covid-19 on Tuesday (as of 12.15 p.m.), 52 of them were ventilated.

Of the 1208 intensive care beds reported as ready for use in the state's hospitals, 934 were occupied, according to data from the intensive care register of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (Divi).
