Rostock (dpa / mv) - 254 new corona infections were reported in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on Tuesday.

That was 49 more than on Tuesday a week ago, as the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) announced (as of 5:01 p.m.).

Seven other people died in connection with Covid-19, bringing that number to a total of 752.

The number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week only decreased slightly by 1.2 to 64.7 compared to the previous day.

A week ago, this figure was 64.4 across the country.

At 115, the seven-day incidence is still highest in Vorpommern-Greifswald, followed by Northwest Mecklenburg with 89.2.

According to Lagus, the value is lowest in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen at 24. The Hanseatic city of Rostock is also below the important threshold of 35 at 26.3.

The total number of proven corona infections in the northeast is now 24,863;

21,829 people are considered to have recovered.

The number of corona patients treated in clinics is currently 262 - 13 more than the day before.

The number of corona patients in intensive care units is 48, six more than the previous day.

According to Lagus, 130,948 corona vaccine doses have so far been administered in the northeast.

81,006 people received a first vaccination, 49,942 a second.
