The WHO (World Health Organization) said that vaccination had started in some African countries under the framework of fair distribution of the new coronavirus vaccine, but asked each country for cooperation because the disparity was still large.

He also called for not loosening infection control, saying that the number of newly infected people in the world started to increase for the first time in seven weeks.

WHO Secretary-General Tedros said at a regular press conference on the 1st that vaccination began in Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire in West Africa under the "COVAX Facility" aiming for fair distribution of vaccines even in economically unrich countries, and at the end of May. By now, it has announced that it will distribute 237 million doses to 142 countries and regions.

"It's regrettable that some countries continue to inoculate younger, healthier people in their lower-risk countries before health care workers and older people in other countries," said Tedros. He said that he urged countries to cooperate so that vaccines could be distributed to countries where supply is still delayed due to the large disparity.

Secretary-General Tedros also expressed concern that the total number of newly confirmed infections in the world had turned to an increase for the first time in seven weeks in the week leading up to the end of last month.

The reason is that some countries have loosened their countermeasures, and it seems that there is a spread of mutant virus infection, so Secretary General Tedros said, "Avoid crowds, keep a distance from people, and keep your hands clean. The basic measures are to keep it, "he said, calling again not to loosen the infection measures.
