Ingolstadt / Wolfsburg (dpa) - The Volkswagen subsidiary Audi is getting a new CFO again after just one year.

On Monday, the supervisory board appointed VW manager Jürgen Rittersberger to succeed Arno Antlitz, who is moving to Wolfsburg as CFO of the VW group.

Rittersberger has headed the General Secretariat and Group Strategy of Volkswagen AG since September 2018.

Before that, he was Secretary General for Corporate Development at Porsche AG for eight years.

VW CEO and Chairman of the Audi Supervisory Board Herbert Diess said: "With Jürgen Rittersberger, Audi is gaining an expert for corporate management, controlling and strategy who is familiar with several group brands."

Audi works council chairman Peter Mosch stated that Rittersberger was “a valued partner for the works council.

«With him we want to realize the investments for a successful transformation of our company.

The location and employment contract is of particular importance.

Audi CEO Markus Duesmann said that the transformation requires the CFO to make a great effort in planning and controlling.

Rittersberger will take over the finance and legal department in Ingolstadt from April.

On March 18, Antlitz and Duesmann will present the Audi annual results for 2020.

VW boss Herbert Diess had prevailed against the concerns of the employee side with the wish to bring Antlitz back to Wolfsburg and make him the chief financial officer.
