It was at 10 o'clock on Monday that the police were alerted to an address in Kalix.
The plaintiff remained at the scene and took an ambulance to medical care for his injuries.
The suspected perpetrator, a man in his 40s, had then left the scene but was found and arrested later.
- Those involved are said to be familiar with each other.
The criminal classification is currently aggravated assault or attempted murder and a preliminary investigation has been initiated, says Åsa Mjörndal, RLC communicator at the police command center.
Blocked for technical examination
The crime scene has been cordoned off for technical investigation.
After questioning, prosecutors must decide whether the man should be arrested or not.
