The pile of unpaid invoices for garbage collection at Stig Johansson's home is growing with each passing month.

He believes that he should not pay for a service that he does not use.

- I who do not have any garbage should not have to suffer from their bureaucracy and be forced to pay for something that I do not benefit from, says Stig Johansson.

Has previously been exempted from collecting their garbage

In 2012, Stig Johansson received a delegation decision from Lessebo municipality, where he was released from collecting household waste at his property.

The decision stated, however, that it would cease if the municipality's handling and regulations regarding waste collection were changed.

And that is exactly what happened.

Together with other municipalities, Lessebo municipality formed Södra Småland's waste and environment, SSAM.

In connection with this, the new rubbish bins with four compartments were introduced.

The bailiff in the heels

Now everyone in the municipality has to pay.

Stig, who composts his food waste, sorts and drives his other rubbish for recycling, does not want to do that.

The bins outside his house are empty.

At the same time, he makes bills for garbage collection that he does not want to pay, that the bailiff is on his heels.

- I have not paid an invoice for a while now, I have no garbage.

And these reminders with fees for a service I never use affect me a lot, I have never had a debt before, says Stig Johansson.
