Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - After two and a half months of corona-related emergency operation, schools and daycare centers in Saxony-Anhalt are opening their doors again.

With the exception of the particularly polluted Burgenland district, face-to-face lessons are once again available for all age groups in all districts and urban districts.

In addition, all families have the opportunity to bring their children to daycare again.

At the primary schools, the children receive daily face-to-face lessons in fixed classes with permanently assigned teachers.

The older cohorts are divided into groups and learn alternately at school and at home.

In addition, several closure orders are lifted: Not only are hairdressing salons and pedicure studios allowed to reopen, but also hardware stores, gardeners, flower shops and driving and flight schools.

In Saxony-Anhalt and nationwide, public life has been largely shut down since November in order to contain the spread of the corona virus.

Compared to the turn of the year, the number of new cases and Covid patients in the intensive care unit has decreased significantly.

However, Saxony-Anhalt is still one of the federal states that are hardest hit by the corona virus.
