Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the United Nations, Abdullah Al-Mouallimi, said today, Monday, that the US intelligence report that accused Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi did not provide any compelling evidence.

"The report is based on assumptions and does not come close to proving the accusation beyond reasonable doubt," the ambassador wrote on Twitter.

"The prince courageously accepted moral responsibility and brought the accused to justice and pledged to reform the intelligence services ... The case is closed," he added.

The White House said today, Monday, that it wants to reconsider the relationship with Saudi Arabia to be based on not being silent on violations.

He added that targeting the network responsible for the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi with sanctions is the best way to prevent a recurrence.
