Munich / Dresden (dpa) - Before the corona deliberations by the federal and state governments on Wednesday, Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) reiterated his call for a change in the vaccination concept.

In April at the latest, when more vaccine comes, every can must be administered "wherever possible," said Söder on Monday at an online press conference with his Saxon colleague Michael Kretschmer (CDU).

Therefore one has to “change the system”: The Astrazeneca vaccine should be administered by general practitioners, company doctors and school doctors in addition to the vaccination centers.

A quick change to the federal vaccination regulation is therefore needed.

Söder also suggested vaccinating older students before taking their Abitur exams - that would bring "a high level of security" there.

And Kretschmer expressed the wish to soon be able to offer vaccinations to the entire population over the age of 18 in hotspot regions on the border.

In addition to the criteria of the Standing Vaccination Commission, other criteria would have to be added - one would also have to talk about this on Wednesday.

According to Söder, a legally fixed prioritization could ultimately become a “recommendation” that would then be applied.

"This is the only way we can catch up with the dramatic deficit that Germany has in vaccination," said Söder.

You have to get better here.
