Kamenz (dpa / sn) - The price increase in Saxony is increasing.

According to preliminary information from the State Statistical Office on Monday, the inflation rate is expected to rise to 1.3 percent after 1.0 percent in January.

From January to February alone, consumer prices rose by 0.8 percent, according to the information.

According to the statisticians in Kamenz, consumers could have observed a noticeable rise in prices when buying food and non-alcoholic beverages.

Coffee beans, fresh fruit and vegetables as well as meat and meat products have become more expensive compared to January.

But consumers also had to dig deeper into their pockets for heating oil and fuels.
