Weimar (dpa / th) - Some of the Corona ordinances of the Thuringian state government from spring and summer 2020 violate the constitution.

The Thuringian constitutional court decided on Monday in Weimar.

The judges thus partially accepted a lawsuit by the AfD parliamentary group against Corona ordinances in the period from May to July 2020.

The AfD parliamentary group had demanded a review by the constitutional court because it considers the restrictions to contain the pandemic in the past year to be disproportionate.

The judges in particular criticized the May regulation and declared it null and void.

"The nullity is based solely on formal reasons," said Constitutional Court President Stefan Kaufmann.

However, the prescribed corona measures themselves, including contact restrictions or minimum distances, are compatible with the constitution, said the president.

The judges want to verbally justify their decision in detail in the morning.

The judgment consists of 149 pages.
