Offenbach (dpa / lhe) - Regional soccer team Kickers Offenbach is returning to its roots and is now playing again in the "Stadion am Bieberer Berg".
The home ground of Hessen, which has been the scene of various football games and major events under different names over the past ten years, was given its old name back on Monday, almost three months before the 100th anniversary on May 21st.
"It is absolutely clear that in the current situation the search for a major sponsor is extremely difficult," said Offenbach's Mayor Felix Schwenke about the contract with the old namesake that expired at the end of 2020.
«Kickers fans associate this place and its name with unique experiences and a history marked by ups and downs.
We are now paying special tribute to this on the anniversary and are making the best of the crisis together thanks to excellent partners.
