Bremen (dpa) - The city of Bremerhaven has reacted to the high incidence of more than 200 and has further restrictions in the corona pandemic.

In coordination with the crisis team, the magistrate decided on Monday to extend the wearing of a medical mouth and nose cover for the city center and also to arrange it in vehicles for passengers as soon as two households are on the way.

In addition, the maximum number of participants at events will be reduced from 100 to 50 people in accordance with the Corona Ordinance.

The rules apply from Tuesday to March 12, according to a statement.

A possible curfew was not considered absolutely necessary.

On Monday, the city gave the incidence at 214 - so many people per 100,000 inhabitants have contracted the virus in the past seven days.

The 200 incidence is considered a critical mark.

Due to the infection, City Councilor Michael Frost, as the responsible school department head, agreed with the crisis team last week that the start of alternating classes planned for this week would initially be suspended from grade 5 and that distance teaching would be continued instead.
