Iserlohn (dpa / lnw) - The Iserlohn Roosters are preparing themselves for the fight for the playoff entry in the German ice hockey league.

The contracts with the attackers Brody Sutter and Mike Hoeffel were terminated.

For this, the Sauerlanders signed Steven Whitney.

The attacker moves from the lower-class North American professional league AHL from the Hershey Bears to Iserlohn.

The Roosters announced on Monday.

The new striker meets his brother Joe Whitney at Seilersee.

The contract with Sutter was terminated because the Canadian would like to be in his home country when his first child is born.

"Especially in times of a global pandemic, there are things that clearly have priority," said sporting director Christian Hommel.

Only last week, the club had prematurely separated from head coach Jason O'Leary.

Under the previous assistant coach Brad Tapper, he then achieved two wins against Düsseldorfer EG, which again gave the Roosters great chances of participating in the playoff.
