Yes, Sunday offered unusually warm and sunny weather and in several places around Värmland a heat record was broken for February.

Among other things, 15.2 degrees was noted in Östmark, which is more than four degrees warmer than previously measured since the measurements started in 1943.

- In Karlstad, where measurements started as early as 1858, it was 13.9 degrees hot and it has not been such a hot February day since 1878, says Nils Holmqvist, meteorologist at SVT.

Arvika and Gustavsfors also record heat records for Sunday.

Arvika with 14.0 degrees (Previous record 12.6 degrees) and Gustavsfors with 12.1 degrees (previous record 11.8 degrees).

According to SMHI, it was 14 degrees also in Säffle, while Hagfors noted 11 degrees and Sysslebäck 8 degrees.

But later this week, colder weather is expected, according to SMHI's forecast.
