The demonstrators advance by running and dancing on the route of the procession, but their demands are not festive.
Doréca Sautier studies in the capital and every day, she testifies to being afraid to leave her home.
“
I don't feel safe,
” she tells us.
Every day people are kidnapped, people are killed.
We, the youth, we, the students, say no: down with kidnappings, down with corruption!
I think the leaders who are in power fail to take their responsibilities.
"
What way out of the crisis?
Governing by decree for over a year,
Jovenel Moïse
announced an electoral calendar, in particular for Parliament to become functional again.
At the heart of the procession, Pascale Solages rejects this proposal to end the crisis as a whole.
"
We do not want to go to the elections with a government which violates our rights and which, from the start will vitiate the electoral process, which also violates the Constitution from a referendum that they want to make and which beyond that , does not respect the life of every citizen of this country.
"
The thousands of people, who marched Haitian flags in hand, have also multiplied slogans hostile to the UN representative in Haiti, accused of downplaying the scale of popular gatherings.
