Discussions about a future cheese link began in the 1990s.

Thirty years later, construction is approaching, but the question of how fast the trains should go and where the stations should be located is still being discussed.

The latest investigation was commissioned by the government this summer and presented by the Swedish Transport Administration today.

In it, the budget has been reduced at the expense of a number of stations along the way.

Politicians critical

Representatives of the municipalities concerned and the Sörmland Region have during the day criticized the Swedish Transport Administration's investigation and demand that Ostlänken be built as planned.

- The Swedish Transport Administration's investigation alternatives do not solve the problems we have struggled with for 20 years.

We assume that agreements entered into with the state and the Swedish Transport Administration will continue to apply, says Daniel Portnoff (M), Chairman of the Municipal Board, Trosa Municipality.

In the video above, Urban Granström (S) presents his criticism of the new proposals.
