Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The number of confirmed new corona infections in Brandenburg has decreased significantly - however, data from several districts and cities is missing.

The health authorities reported 91 new cases within one day, the Ministry of Health announced in Potsdam on Monday.

From Frankfurt (Oder), Potsdam, the Prignitz and the Spree-Neisse district, however, there were no new values.

At the weekend, the data is reported with a delay.

A week ago there were 112 new cases nationwide, 251 on Sunday. Most new infections were added in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district with 19, followed by the Dahme-Spreewald district with eleven, the ministry reported on Monday.

The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week - the so-called seven-day incidence - continues to rise slightly in Brandenburg.

On Monday, the Ministry of Health reported a value of 64.4 after 63.3 on Sunday and 63.6 a week ago.

The focus within Brandenburg remains the Elbe-Elster district with a value of 130.6, followed by the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district with 126.2.

This value is important for the question of whether there can be further easing of the corona restrictions.

The federal and state governments had announced that they wanted to reopen retail stores and museums, among other things, within a week if the value remained stable over several days of at most 35 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants.

On Wednesday they will again discuss opening prospects.
