Klettwitz (dpa) - Despite the ongoing pandemic situation, advance ticket sales for the German Touring Car Masters (DTM) have started.

"For us it is important to finally give the viewers the opportunity to pursue their passion on site again - provided the current pandemic situation permits", as the DTM umbrella organization ITR announced when asked by the German Press Agency.

The traditional racing series, which will be contested with GT 3 vehicles for the first time in the season that starts in mid-June, will take place at the Lausitzring from July 23 to 25.

The DTM fans - around 60,000 spectators came to the two races in Lusatia in the penultimate season - have not lost interest, according to the ITR, despite the circumstances.

"The interaction on the social platforms is higher than seldom before and you can tell from the fans that they are looking forward to the new season."

Initially, however, only a limited number of tickets will be issued.

“We are closely monitoring the situation and are leaving the option open at short notice to vacate additional grandstand seats,” says the new ITR location in Munich, “as we cannot guarantee this, we advise our fans to get one of the currently available tickets quickly to secure. "

At the same time, in addition to a larger opening of the grandstand seats, those responsible also have a complete exclusion on the bill.

"In this case, we will decide on a customer-oriented basis and from location to location which scenarios we have prepared make the most sense."
