Small business owners and self-employed people who have suffered damage due to the ban on COVID-19 gatherings, etc., can receive up to 6.5 million won in the 4th disaster support fund, said Hong Ik-pyo, chairman of the Democratic Party's Policy Committee.



In a broadcast radio interview, Chairman Hong explained the details of the 4th disaster support, saying, "We have raised the funding for the support a little more and diversified the section.



5 million won is paid to businesses that have been banned from business, 4 million won to businesses that have been banned from business, and 3 million won to businesses that have been restricted from business.



1 million to 2 million won is also paid to the general industry.



Separately, additional support for electricity bills of up to 1.5 million won is provided.



Regarding the support for street vendors, Chairman Hong explained that "about 40,000 registered street vendors managed by local governments are supported."



Criticism of'supporting street vendors who don't even pay tax' was "a very malicious frame," he said, saying, "It is not because someone paid the tax, but that we will apply first to the most difficult people in the social community."



Of the 15 trillion won in the additional budget, 9 trillion won is raised through the issuance of government bonds.



The remaining 5.1 trillion won will be secured from global surplus of 2.6 trillion won, BOK surplus of 800 billion won, and funding of 1.7 trillion won.



Chairman Hong explained, "Currently, we are not reviewing the symptoms related to this supplementary administration."



Regarding the Loss Compensation Act, he said, "I hope the bill will pass by the National Assembly within March," and "We are planning to put it into effect from July 1 with a three-month probation." Chairman Hong said, "Retroactive application from the day it was promulgated. So, if the bill passes on March 30th, it will take effect from then on."
