Some children who were playing on the beach of

La Herradura

, in

Almuñécar

(

Granada

), have found 17.2 kilos of hashish in a gasoline can that had been carried by the sea to shore.

The discovery took place on Sunday afternoon, when the children were playing on the beach and saw the drum with an open cap that was suspected of having drugs, so they notified the

Local Police

, the City Council has reported.

The agents verified that inside there was a significant amount of hashish distributed in tablets that were wrapped.

Once the drum was recovered, it was verified at the police station that it was loose and unsealed pieces that reached a weight of 4.6 kilos and 22 small tablets that weighed more than 12.6 kilos, as reported by a spokesman for the Local Police, who has pointed out that the strong east wind probably brought the drum to shore.

Once the weighing and the corresponding report had been carried out, the drug was transferred to the

Civil Guard

headquarters

for its control and corresponding processing.
