Potsdam (dpa / bb) - Brandenburg's Minister of Health Ursula Nonnemacher (Greens) reacted cautiously to suggestions from Saxony and Bavaria for an expansion of vaccinations.

"I think we have our hands full now to vaccinate priority 1," said Nonnemacher on Monday in Potsdam with a view to the vaccinations for over 80-year-olds, nursing home residents and employees in medicine and care.

There are also very large groups for whom vaccinations are now possible with the vaccine from Astrazeneca - for people with severe pre-existing illnesses and with disabilities.

Saxony's Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU) had proposed that the entire population over 18 years of age in hotspot regions on the border should soon be able to offer vaccinations.

Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) urges the federal and state governments to change the vaccination concept before the corona deliberations on Wednesday.

In April at the latest, when more vaccine comes, every can must be administered "wherever possible," said Söder.

He also suggested vaccinating older students before taking their Abitur exams.
