Potsdam (dpa / bb) - Brandenburg wants to significantly expand vaccinations against the corona virus.

For this purpose, 17,000 more appointments should be released, announced the Vice-President of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KV) Brandenburg, Holger Rostek, on Monday in Potsdam.

In the eleven vaccination centers, the opening times would be extended to 8 p.m. and Saturday from March 8th at the latest.

"Everything that is there will be inoculated by March."

According to Rostek, online appointment allocation for 18 to 64 year olds has got off to a good start.

Recently, teachers and educators have been able to get vaccinated in vaccination centers - and soon in six hospitals in Schwedt, Eberswalde, Eisenhüttenstadt, Senftenberg, Strausberg and Potsdam.

The model project with corona vaccinations in medical practices is to start on Wednesday.

Initially, the project will be implemented in four practices in Bad Belzig, Senftenberg, Pritzwalk and Wittenberge, announced the Ministry of Health, KV and the German Red Cross Brandenburg.

In March, the offer should be expanded to 50 practices.

It is planned that they will assign the appointments to their patients themselves.

For regular vaccinations in medical practices and for house calls, the federal corona vaccination ordinance would have to be changed.
