The Republican conference, the CPAC, a kind of meeting for the conservative movement in the United States, is usually more of a formality to inspire party members.

The event does not usually enjoy much attention - this time it was different.

The program was in many ways designed to be appreciated by Donald Trump.

The myth of the stolen election was strengthened and those who turned against the party's strong man during the Supreme Court indictment had not been invited.

Opened to run

The speech was initially a long review of the political victories Donald Trump won during his time as president.

He described Joe Biden's first time in the White House as the worst a president has ever performed.

A leader who eliminated security along the border with Mexico and opened the southern border of the drug cartels.

We who listened to Trump during the election campaign recognized many of the outbursts against the leaders of the Democrats.

This time, however, Trump was more rhetorical in his rock-hard attacks and wanted to bring out the contrasts between the political agenda he himself pursued and Joe Biden's United States.

To demonstrate power over his party, Trump announced that he may decide to defeat the Democrats "a third time."

A statement that shows that Trump is considering running in the 2024 election and that at the same time he continues to, incorrectly, claim that he was ordered to his election victory.

No new party

Donald Trump had not spoken publicly since leaving the White House on January 20.

Here in Orlando, his outbursts, true and false, were met with deafening cheers.

An important news was that Trump clearly emphasized that he does not intend to start a new party.

Rumors have been circulating for quite some time here that Trump had plans to take his many millions of loyal voters to a new Conservative party - the Patriotic Party.

He described the rumors as a result of fabricated news and that there is no chance of winning an election with the conservative voters split between two different parties.

Attacks on "traitors"

The organizers had done everything to make the meeting reflect a united party, but despite many heavy Republicans having hoped and appealed to Trump not to attack his party comrades, the last part of the speech was a general attack on the Republicans who "betrayed" him.

Especially the party comrades who voted against him during the Supreme Court indictment.

Donald Trump methodically went through the names of the members who, among other things, voted to overthrow him and the message was clear: - I will work to nominate tough and strong Republican leaders in Congress.

The 2022 midterm elections will be Donald Trump's next opportunity to show the world what power he has over his party.
