China News Service, March 1, According to AFP reports, the Iranian Foreign Ministry "strongly" denied an allegation made by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on March 1.

Earlier, an Israeli cargo ship exploded in the Gulf of Oman, which the Prime Minister said was an Iranian act.

On the evening of February 25, a cargo ship, the MV Helios Ray, exploded in the Gulf of Oman.

The Israeli Defense Minister stated on February 27 that a preliminary assessment found that "Iran is responsible for this explosion."

According to the report, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu also stated in an interview with Israeli Public Radio that "this is indeed Iranian behavior, which is obvious."

In response, the spokesperson of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly denied this accusation at a press conference, saying that "the source of this accusation itself shows how invalid (this statement) is."

According to previous reports, the cargo ship has arrived at the port of Dubai and will be assessed in a dry dock there.

According to Israeli media, a delegation from that country is heading to Dubai to investigate.

Since the then-U.S. President Trump announced his withdrawal from the Iran nuclear agreement in 2018 and re-imposed sanctions on Iran, tensions in the Gulf region have increased.

Since then, the United States has accused Iran of "launching multiple attacks on ships in Gulf waters, including two Saudi oil tankers."

Iran denies this.
