Zwickau (dpa / sn) - With actions in several companies, IG Metall got its members in the mood for the upcoming warning strikes on Monday.

Several hundred employees in five companies in Zwickau and the surrounding area took part, as the union announced.

Among other things, according to the information, with projections in front of two companies in the Zwickau district of Mosel, attention was drawn to the demands in the current wage dispute.

"Of course, thousands of colleagues cannot walk shoulder to shoulder in front of the factory gates at the moment, that is out of the question," said IG Metall Zwickau's managing director, Thomas Knabel.

"Nonetheless, we are ready to strike and are calling on employers to finally put an offer on the table that deserves the name."

The peace obligation ends in the night of Tuesday.

The union then wants to put pressure on employers with warning strikes in the metal and electrical industry.

She demands around 4 percent more money as well as financial compensation for the longer weekly working hours of 38 instead of 35 hours compared to western Germany.

The collective bargaining round in Saxony involves around 27,000 employees in companies in the industry that are bound by collective bargaining agreements.
