Potsdam (dpa / bb) - At the weekend, two motorists in the districts of Ostprignitz-Ruppin and Oder-Spree were killed on the streets of Brandenburg.

According to the police spokeswoman, there were also 29 injured.

In total, the situation center of the Brandenburg police counted 281 accidents between Friday and Sunday.

People were injured or killed in 21 traffic accidents, while the remaining 260 only caused property damage.

A fatal accident occurred on Friday evening on Autobahn 12 between Storkow and Fürstenwalde (Oder-Spree district).

A 41-year-old pickup truck driver hit the end of a traffic jam without braking and collided with a tractor-trailer.

He was trapped in his vehicle and died.

A 73-year-old driver was also killed on Friday.

On the district road between Walsleben and Werder (Ostprignitz-Ruppin district) he came off the road shortly before 1 p.m. with his car and collided with several street trees.

He died on the spot.

The cause of the accident was initially unclear.
