On Monday, the trial started against the 53-year-old from Umeå who is suspected of a series of rapes against younger girls in the municipality.

The police caught up with him after a mother of a girl in her teens sounded the alarm.

The daughter had told that she was raped by the 53-year-old man at an address in central Umeå when she visited him to get drugs.

According to the mother, the daughter had told that several other girls had also been raped by the man.

He was arrested a few days after the rape was reported, but then for drug offenses.

After an investigation, the police were able to link a consignment of almost 100 grams of amphetamine to him.

In parallel, the suspected abuse was investigated and the daughter now tells what she has been through.

The 53-year-old is said to have demanded sex in exchange for narcotic drugs.

Another girl also tells of sexual abuse from the man.

According to her, he raped her four times and abused her at the same time.

Prosecuted for exploiting children for sexual posing

When the prosecutor later arrests the man again, the investigation has swelled.

Among other things, the police found a film in which a girl gives the 53-year-old sexual services while he beats her.

The girl was 16 years old at the time and the prosecutor therefore also prosecutes the man for exploiting children for sexual posing.

The 53-year-old denies the accusations and in interrogation he gives the impression that others "want to put him there".

According to the man, the filmed event is simply about the girl wanting to give him sexual services as a birthday present.

- It was voluntary.

There is no person who receives such an offer and refuses, he says in interrogation.

Deputy Chief Prosecutor Peter Jonsson tells SVT that he wants to wait with further comments while the hearing is ongoing.

The trial is scheduled to last eight days.
