Wilhelmshaven (dpa / lni) - While playing on Lake Banter in Wilhelmshaven, a boy slipped and fell into the cold water.
While trying to help her eight-year-old brother, his twin sister also got into the water, the police said on Sunday.
To save her children, the mother also jumped into the lake.
A married couple who were present finally managed to bring all three of them back to shore unscathed, even before the alarmed rescue workers arrived at the scene of the accident.
As a precaution, the mother and children were taken to hospital.
