Today, Sunday, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced an emergency landing of one of the Russian Air Force's military helicopters in the northwestern countryside of Hasaka, Syria.

The ministry said - in an official statement reported by Sputnik - that "according to the report of the helicopter crew, the Russian military helicopter Mi-35M (Mi-35M) was not subjected to any attack or shooting."

The statement added that a technical and technical defect occurred, which required the return of the helicopter to the runway after canceling the military mission assigned to it in the Syrian province of Hasaka.

The statement concluded that the crew was not exposed to any danger, and disembarked the plane normally in accordance with safety and air emergency procedures and rules, and after that the technical teams took over the tasks of knowing the defect that occurred.

The Russian Defense Ministry denied the news reported by the Syrian News Agency (SANA) regarding the fall of a Russian helicopter west of Tal passing through the northwestern countryside of Hasaka and killing the pilot.

SANA had reported earlier that a Russian helicopter had crashed between the villages of Rihaniyeh and Al-Qasimia, located west of Tal Tamr in the northwestern countryside of Hasaka, and reports that the pilot was killed and other crew members were injured.

A source close to the Syrian government forces also told the German news agency that Russian forces in the region evacuated the wounded and began investigations into the plane crash.
