In the past 24 hours, 4,729 positive corona tests have been registered at the RIVM.
That is again more than the average over the past seven days (4,605).
Since the start of the corona pandemic, nearly 1.1 million positive corona tests have been conducted in the Netherlands.
Statistically, this makes the Netherlands one of the twenty worst affected countries worldwide.
Because the daily figures can fluctuate, NU.nl looks at the weekly average.
RIVM also repeatedly emphasized that these figures provide a better picture.
Last week, about four to five thousand positive tests were reported almost every day.
More than 5,000 positive tests were reported twice this week, the largest in just over one month.
The RIVM also reports 21 corona-related deaths.
Not all of these patients have died in the past 24 hours, because there may be a delay between the date of death and the reporting date.
Worldwide, 2.5 million people have died with COVID-19.
