Munich (dpa) - Joachim Löw ruled out a comeback by Thomas Müller, Mats Hummels and Jérôme Boateng in the German national team at the start of the EM season.
The national coach is considering a return in particular of Bayern professional Müller (31) at most to the European football championship in the summer, as he told ARD and the "kicker" in interviews that were partially or fully published on Sunday.
"You should never break off a break and go in a completely different direction," said Löw in principle.
That is why he will “not interrupt the upheaval now” in the three upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Iceland, Romania and North Macedonia in March.
Above all, however, is a successful EM participation.
"Special circumstances", says Löw, "can justify an interruption of the upheaval".
He had sorted out the 2014 world champions Müller (31), Hummels (32) and Boateng (32) in spring 2019.
After the recent 0: 6, the call for attacker Müller's return became very loud.
"In the end I have to decide somehow in May," said Löw in the ARD interview with a view to the nomination of the EM squad.

Then the question for him is: “What types of players do we need?
What do we need in the individual positions to guarantee the greatest possible success? "
From his point of view, it would be no problem to integrate one or all of the returnees back into the DFB team quickly.
"The players know exactly how things are going for the national team."
In the Kicker interview (Monday edition), Löw speaks of a “difficult and important question” for him too.
The 61-year-old does not fear any hierarchical problems in the younger team if he returns: "The character of Thomas Müller and Mats Hummels is that they do not oppress others."
