The new Biden administration has been ramping up warnings for Addis Ababa in recent weeks.

Ten days ago, she confirmed the suspension of just under $ 300 million in aid due to the political situation in the country.

In a statement on Saturday, Antony Blinken recalled his previous demands: cessation of hostilities, facilitation of humanitarian aid and the withdrawal of Eritrean troops from Tigray.

The continental organization has been silent since Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed rejected his attempt at mediation at the end of November.
