Dozens of Lebanese blocked main roads, on Sunday, in the capital, Beirut, in protest against the recurring power cuts in many parts of the country, as the blackouts increased for about a week.

And Anadolu Agency said that the protesters blocked roads in central Beirut, with burning tires and dumpsites, demanding the return of electricity, and then returned to open them without any security intervention.

On Friday, the Electricity Company of Lebanon issued a statement declaring that it was not possible to secure the "fuel" that is used to operate power stations, due to the difficulty of completing "banking procedures."

The next day, the media office of the Minister of Finance, Ghazi Wazni, announced that he had signed the opening of appropriations for the Lebanese Electricity Corporation, for the shipment of "fuel".

In separate incidents, the Rachaya area in the Bekaa witnessed a demonstration to reject the deteriorating economic conditions.

Activists also chanted slogans and held the political authority responsible for the deteriorating situation in the country at various levels.

Lebanon has been suffering for years, a severe crisis in the provision of electricity, which has escalated in recent months due to the scarcity of fuel due to the fact that its import is linked to the dollar, which reached a record high in the country.
