Berlin (dpa / bb) - Alba Berlin has clearly won the chase duel in the basketball Bundesliga.

On Sunday, the defending champion from the capital outclassed the Makro Merlins Crailsheim with 100: 62 (49:25) in front of empty stands in his own hall.

Alba thus moved past the direct competitor in the table to take second place.

The best throwers from Berlin were Peyton Siva and Captain Niels Giffey with 15 points each.

New signing Christ Koumadje was again not in the squad.

His teammates got off to a strong start even without the center.

The unerring Berliners were quickly 12-0 in the lead.

At first, the guests hardly succeeded.

Only after more than six minutes did they make their first two points.

Alba defended very carefully and did not allow much.

The guests only met better in the second quarter.

Alba now made a few mistakes and missed throws, but still had the game under control.

The Berliners were particularly accurate in the distance throws, hitting the basket 14 times in a total of 27 attempts.

The lead grew to 24 points by half-time.

After the break, Alba kept the opponent in check.

Especially on the defensive, the hosts did not allow much, so that Crailsheim was rarely able to create good throwing positions.

Shortly before the end of the third quarter, the lead increased to 36 points (75:39).

After that, Alba spared some of the regulars, but brought the victory to the finish line with ease.
