Leipzig (AP) - Julian Nagelsmann screamed out his joy.

"Little content, a lot of emotions," said the RB Leipzig coach about his jubilation after the 3-2 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sky.

Thanks to an impressive comeback and the late winning goal by Alexander Sörloth, his team kept their chances in the Bundesliga title race.

In the third minute of stoppage time, the striker saved second in the table after falling 2-0 down on his fifth league win in a row.

This is the first time Leipzig has won in the Bundesliga after a 2-0 draw.

Jonas Hofmann (6th) had put Borussia in the lead with a penalty kick before Marcus Thuram (19th) increased for the guests.

Christopher Nkunku (57th) scored the next goal, Yussuf Poulsen (66th) equalized for RB.

After the winning goal, the Gladbachers protested on the pitch with referee Manuel Gräfe about a push by Sörloth.

Thanks to RB's catch-up, the gap to the German record champions FC Bayern is still two points.

"We delivered a top game and deserved to win," said Poulsen on Sky TV.

The Dane blamed individual mistakes for the 2-0 win, which the team put away very well.

“With such an achievement today, the self-confidence is of course great.

Gladbach is a top team and we deservedly defeated them, we were clearly the better team.

That of course gives us a broad chest. "

On the other hand, the Gladbachers were bent.

"To get the third one at the back, it hurts, it's bitter," admitted Hofmann, looking at the third goal conceded in stoppage time.

«We weren't able to provide much relief in the second half.

Against such strong opponents it is often only a matter of time before one or two goals are conceded. "

The tailor-made game began for the recently unlucky Gladbacher.

The defensive boss Dayot Upamecano, who had returned after knee problems, checked the Breel Embolo, which was running past him almost on the baseline, towards the gang - referee Manuel Gräfe immediately pointed to the point.

RB goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi was in the right corner, but could not fend off Hofmann's weak ball.

After conceding the earliest goal in the whole season, RB only knew the forward gear.

But Borussia goalkeeper Yann Sommer held on to the lead: First he parried Dani Olmo’s shot from a shot (8th), then Tyler Adams (13th).

The game shares were clearly distributed, Leipzig stormed, Gladbach defended vehemently, but had problems in the build-up game with the high RB pressing.

Coach Marco Rose's guest team demonstrated a high level of efficiency.

They played the second attack cool and clever.

First Valentino Lazaro made national player Marcel Halstenberg look bad.

Embolo headed his cross at the far corner towards the RB housing, the ball then spun off Thuram's shoulder into the goal to make it 2-0.

Marcel Sabitzer (33.) could have shortened before half-time, but his shot from 13 meters went far over the goal.

After four Bundesliga successes in a row, Nagelsmann's team appeared self-confident, but on the offensive, as is so often the case recently, the callousness and serenity of a striker was missing.

The nominal striker Poulsen took the balls from midfield and brought Christopher Nkunku and Olmo into play.

Until the change, nothing counted came out.

Nagelsmann reacted with the restart, bringing Sörloth as another striker for captain Marcel Sabitzer.

The Norwegian also made it 1: 2, the goal (51st) was not counted due to handball.

Six minutes later, the goal from Nkunku, who hammered in an input from Halstenberg from close range, counted.

RB continued without a break, suddenly Poulsen took heart and hit the lower left corner from 18 meters.

Substitute Emil Forsberg almost scored the lead in the 77th minute with his first touch of the ball, and Sommer was able to steer the ball against the post.

In the end, Sörloth let the people of Leipzig cheer.
