Yesterday, Friday, US Justice Department officials said that federal prosecutors have indicted more than 300 people for their role in the Capitol riots in January.

The announcement came during a press conference about the threat of domestic terrorism by several federal law enforcement agencies, as officials said that the threat of violence perpetrated by Americans will be a top priority for President Joe Biden's administration.

"The first briefing I received in my new job was about efforts to bring the perpetrators of the January 6 attack to justice," said John Carlin, Deputy Attorney General who took office on January 21.

He added that about 280 of the more than 300 people accused of storming the Capitol building last month were arrested in violent riots.

A senior FBI official noted that the two biggest domestic terrorist threats are: racially motivated attacks and attacks on the government.

The Department of Justice has focused on the participation of elements from the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys, among other groups.

The Capitol Police also announced the dismissal of 6 operatives and the opening of an investigation against 29 for their behavior during the attack, according to US media, while some of the attackers reported that members of the Capitol Police encouraged them to storm the building.
