Oberstdorf (dpa) - The German Ski Association has nominated Markus Eisenbichler for the mixed team competition despite his rather weak performance in the individual World Cup on the normal hill.
National coach Stefan Horngacher named the three-time world champion from Seefeld, Oberstdorf silver winner Geiger, Katharina Althaus and Anna Rupprecht for the team.
The team will start the competition as defending champions on Sunday from 5 p.m. (ARD and Eurosport).
The eagles of the German Ski Association are not top favorites this year.
