In Dunkirk and in the Alpes-Maritimes, there should be a feeling of déjà vu this weekend.

The two areas, faced with a strong circulation of the coronavirus epidemic, must be subjected to two weekends of containment, the first of which began Friday at 6 p.m.: until Monday, March 1, 6 a.m. for the first, and from Friday March 5 6 p.m. to Monday March 8 6 a.m. for the second.

Which areas are affected? 

In the Alpes-Maritimes, confinement concerns

the city of Nice and 63 towns along the coast of the department

, from Théoule-sur-Mer to Menton.

In the North, the measure applies to the agglomeration of Dunkirk and the Hauts de Flandre community of municipalities, ie 250,000 inhabitants.

What is prohibited 

During these two weekends, travel outside the home and not justified by an exceptional reason will be prohibited.

Travel authorized for individual physical activity, or for walking pets, may not exceed one hour and exceed a radius of 5 km around the home.

In the areas of the Alpes-Maritimes affected by containment, all businesses, except food stores, pharmacies, medical laboratories, tobacco shops, service stations and garages, will be closed.

Several non-food markets located in neighborhoods hard hit by the epidemic will also be closed.

Shops and shopping malls of more than 5,000 m2 have already been ordered to close for two weeks since Tuesday.

Only a "click and collect" activity is authorized for them.

In Dunkirk, all non-food businesses will also have to close their doors, and the list of exceptions is available on the Prefecture du Nord website.

In both areas, bookstores, now classified among so-called essential businesses, will be able to remain open. 

In Nice,

during the two weekends, said the city hall, in addition to the prefectural decree.

"I chose to close the south sidewalk of the Promenade des Anglais, (…), the coastal path and the beaches", explained Mayor LR Christian Estrosi.
