Cottbus / Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The craft in Brandenburg considers the help for the companies in the corona pandemic to be inadequate.

The funding would provide a replacement for fixed costs, but the cost of living for the entrepreneurs was not included, said the managing director of the Brandenburg Chamber of Crafts (BHKT), Ralph Bührig, the German press agency.

"Politicians have no solution for this."

Many entrepreneurs have used up their reserves and have had difficulties getting back on their feet at all.

Looking at the past few months, it is clear that suitable support elements have to be found, such as taking the entrepreneur's wages into account, said Bührig.

Vice Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) rejected a request made by many hairdressers to lower the VAT rate for hairdressing services to seven percent.

In a video panel discussion on Wednesday evening, he discussed with hairdressers and cosmetics companies from Brandenburg.

The barber shops in Brandenburg will open again next Monday.

In Berlin, too, hairdressers can start again from March 1st.

The salons had been closed since mid-December because of the pandemic, and in spring 2020 they had to close once.

In between, the companies were only allowed to open in compliance with strict conditions - this time too, this is only possible with a strict hygiene concept.

Unlike in Bavaria, for example, cosmetic stores in Brandenburg are still closed.

Bührig's demand: Cosmetic stores should also have an opening perspective as soon as possible.

These companies did a lot for health protection, for example with foot care and skin treatment.

The BHKT managing director also sees a problem in childcare for employees of the craft businesses.

Many women work in the hairdressing industry and are often exposed to a double burden.

Bührig appealed to the daycare providers to develop clever concepts to ensure childcare.

He sees a good solution in free quick tests, such as those offered by the state capital Potsdam from Monday.

This could make childcare and schooling possible on a larger scale.

These are necessary steps so that companies can work fully again.
