Michel Callot was voted on Saturday for a second term as President of the French Cycling Federation (FFC) against Cyrille Guimard who was his only opponent.

The outgoing president obtained 93.4% of the vote (852 votes) against 60 votes for Guimard.

Michel Callot, 54, was elected in 2017 for a first four-year term.

He then succeeded David Lappartient who then took the head of the International Cycling Union (UCI).

The renewed president of the FFC presented a program intended to unite, baptized "all together, an ambition for French cycling", against Guimard who advocated a break, especially in terms of age categories.

Guimard (74), legend of French cycling after having directed Bernard Hinault and Laurent Fignon in the 70s and 80s, had already been an unsuccessful candidate for the presidency of the FFC in 2009.

National coach in 2017 and 2018 under the presidency of Callot, he was then sidelined for opposing the sporting direction of the FFC.
