Brazil

is facing "a tragedy" due to the "new wave" of Covid-19: this was reported by Mike Ryan, WHO Emergency Director, on the day the South American country registered 65,169 new positives and well 1,337 deaths, never so many in 24 hours since the pandemic began.

In the giant of 211 million inhabitants there have already been over 10 million cases and 251,000 deaths.

"Unfortunately it is a tragedy that Brazil is facing all this again, it is difficult", said Ryan, "this should be the fourth wave that Brazil must face".

For the WHO it is necessary to control the transmission at the national level: "Brazil has many exceptional public health facilities. I believe that the country knows what to do and many states are trying to apply the best measures. But it is not easy as it is not there is a part of the country that has not been seriously affected by the pandemic ".

Brazil, he concluded, "must be a warning to the whole world, the pandemic is not over and any relaxation is dangerous".

The

Mexico
