China News Agency, Beijing, February 26 (Reporter Ruan Yulin) Chinese officials announced on the 26th that the State Council appointed Wang Zhengpu as the director of the National Rural Revitalization Bureau.
Official information shows that Wang Zhengpu was born in August 1963, from Yantai, Shandong.
From August 2003 to October 2010, he successively served as the former Deputy Director of the Finance Department, Deputy Director of the General Office, and Director of the Finance Department of the former Ministry of Agriculture.
Prior to serving in the National Rural Revitalization Bureau, he was a member of the Standing Committee of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee, Minister of the Organization Department, and President of the Party School of the Provincial Party Committee.
According to official website news, starting from January 2021, Wang Zhengpu has served as a member of the Central Rural Work Leading Group and Deputy Office Director, a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Party Secretary and Director of the National Rural Revitalization Bureau.
On the afternoon of the 25th, the National Bureau of Rural Development was listed on the original site of the "State Council Leading Group Office for Poverty Alleviation and Development" in Beijing.
According to reports, the establishment of the National Bureau of Rural Revitalization is an important measure to consolidate and expand the results of poverty alleviation and effectively link rural revitalization.
This year’s Central Document No. 1 pointed out that after the completion of the poverty alleviation goals and tasks, a five-year transition period will be established for counties that have escaped poverty from the date of poverty alleviation.
During the transition period, we will maintain the overall stability of the current major assistance policies, gradually realize a smooth transition from concentrated resources to support poverty alleviation to comprehensive promotion of rural revitalization, and promote the historical shift of the focus of the "three rural" work.
On the same day, the State Council appointed Hong Tianyun and Xia Gengsheng as deputy directors of the National Bureau of Rural Revitalization.
On the evening of the 25th, the official website of the former Office of the Leading Group for Poverty Alleviation and Development of the State Council changed its name to the National Rural Revitalization Bureau, marking the official website of the National Rural Revitalization Bureau.
The official Weibo and WeChat public accounts of the National Bureau of Rural Development were also launched that evening.
