- Our work is becoming very complicated now that we have a vaccine, AstraZenecas, which is not used in the largest group of phase two vaccinations, namely for people older than 65 years, says vaccine coordinator Jonas Ekström.

However, he believes that AstraZeneca's vaccine has an undeservedly bad reputation as the latest studies show very good results even for the elderly.

- Whether phase three can start on time depends on the one hand on access to the vaccine but on the other hand to a very high degree on whether there will be changes in the stance on AstraZeneca's vaccine, says Jonas Ekström.

At present, according to Jonas Ekström, there would be a capacity of 25,000 vaccinations per week in Västmanland.

But the vaccine delivered to the county is enough for about 5,000 vaccinations.

- It is very frustrating, he says.

How is the booking going now?

- It actually goes much better!

We have changed the age limit for those who get a booked time sent home and now send out times to people who are 75 years and older, says Jonas Ekström.
