After the deployment meeting for the national "broken card" operation on October 10, 2020, public security organs at all levels quickly organized centralized arrests, focused rectification, and public punishment.
With the joint efforts of various localities and departments, the "Card Broken" operation has achieved remarkable results. As of the end of January, a total of 9,013 "two card" illegal criminal gangs had been eliminated and 176,000 suspects of "two card" illegal crimes had been arrested.
Jia Junqiang said that since 2020, the Ministry of Public Security has continuously improved the "working mechanism for blocking fraudulent calls" and the fraudulent call blocking system.
Up to now, the Ministry of Public Security’s telecom fraud investigation platform has pushed a total of 12.66 million effective early warning messages, with a success rate of 98.1%, preventing 12.42 million people from being deceived, intercepting 240 million fraudulent calls and over 930 million text messages, and blocking 328,000 fraudulent apps and web sites were used to avoid economic losses of RMB 242.75 billion for the masses.
Jia Junqiang said that in recent years, illegal and criminal activities infringing citizens' personal information have been rampant, not only seriously infringing on the personal rights of the masses, but also easily inducing downstream crimes such as telecommunications network fraud and bank card fraud.
In 2020, public security agencies across the country will take the "Net Net 2020" special operation as an opportunity to continue to carry out concentrated combat operations to continuously reduce the space for illegal and criminal activities that violate citizens' personal information.
According to statistics, in 2020, public security organs across the country have investigated and handled more than 3,100 criminal cases of infringement of citizens' personal information, arrested more than 9,700 suspects, investigated and handled more than 3,400 public security cases, and handled more than 3,600 offenders.
At the same time, the public security organs attacked criminal activities such as infringing on the personal information of minors and elderly citizens, cracked 50 cases of stealing and trafficking in the personal information of minors and elderly, destroyed 43 gangs, and arrested 860 suspects. More than 500 persons involved in key industries were seized and 94 cases were cracked; 91 crimes involving infringement of citizens' personal information using the "dark web" were cracked, and more than 220 suspects were arrested; cases of theft and trafficking of facial data were cracked In 22 cases, 60 suspects were arrested.
