Sylt (dpa / lno) - A suspected serial burglar has used the corona-related lockdown on Sylt to go on a foray from an empty holiday apartment.
The criminal police assume that the 37-year-old can be assigned around 20 break-ins on the island, said the Flensburg police department on Friday.
Sylt police officers accidentally found the man on Thursday.
They discovered the 37-year-old's hiding place in the building during an investigation into a burglary.
The officers arrested him when he returned.
The man was known to the police for property crimes, among other things, and was only released from prison in the summer of 2020, it said.
At the request of the public prosecutor's office, an arrest warrant was issued.
