The violence lasted nearly half an hour.

Thursday evening, shortly before 7:30 p.m., the Sarcelles police station, in the Val d'Oise, was the target of throwing projectiles of all kinds, in particular stones and fireworks mortars, learned

20 minutes

from a police source, confirming information from France Info.

About thirty people participated, according to this source, in the clashes.

No injuries were to be deplored and six people were arrested during the evening, in particular for “participation in an armed group” and “outrage and rebellion”.

In the evening, the PS mayor of the town, Patrick Haddad, launched in the evening a call for calm on social networks before calling on the Minister of the Interior, Gerald Darmanin, on the dilapidated state of the police station.

“I appeal again to the Minister of the Interior to have a new police station built, worthy of the name, in Sarcelles.

A site visit that we have reserved for them will take place very soon in the presence of the prefectural authorities, ”he said on Facebook.

This firework mortar attack is reminiscent of the one carried out against the Champigny-sur-Marne police station nearly five months ago.

Since 2017, the sale of these devices is however reserved for professionals but the ban is easily circumvented on the Internet where European sites offer these fireworks for around fifteen euros.

“It has become an extremely common weapon, estimated last October in our columns Linda Kebbab, national delegate of the SGP-FO unit union.

I do not know a policeman working on the public highway who has not been hit with a mortar, especially in the Paris region or in large cities.
