Weimar / Erfurt (dpa / th) - The ban on a planned assembly in Erfurt against the state corona measures, confirmed by the Weimar Administrative Court, concerns the next higher court.

A complaint from the organizers against the decision of the administrative court had been received at the Thuringian Higher Administrative Court, said an OVG spokeswoman on Friday upon request.

When the OVG decides on the complaint was initially open.

The city of Erfurt had banned the rally planned for Saturday, for which up to 10,000 participants were registered.

The city's decision to ban the rally was justified in view of the current corona infection situation, the administrative court announced on Thursday after it had rejected an urgent application against the ban.

A meeting could be banned if it jeopardized public safety or order, the judges said.

Public safety also includes protecting the life and health of individuals.

The city had justified its ban mainly with the fact that one could violate the basic right to the physical integrity of third parties.
