Hama Amadou

presented himself to the judicial police, this is what several sources confirm to RFI, including Barké Moustapha, the campaign director of his party, Moden Fa Lumana Africa.

The opponent has arrived accompanied by two of his lawyers at the police station, where he must be questioned before being eventually transferred to justice.

Thursday, in front of the press, the Minister of the Interior accused Hama Amadou of being behind the unrest of recent days.

He was wanted

and presumed to be on the run.

According to one of Hama Amadou's lawyers, the opponent's home had been surrounded by law enforcement on several occasions over the past two days.

Hama Amadou was not a candidate for the presidential election, his candidacy having been invalidated by the Constitutional Court.

But he was engaged in the campaign with the candidate of the RDR Tchanji,

Mahamane Ousmane

.

According to the results of the Ministry of the Interior, two people died and nearly 470 were arrested during the disturbances that took place in Niamey after the announcement, Tuesday by the CENI, of the provisional results of the presidential election.

These results give winner

Mohamed Bazoum with nearly 56% of the vote

against Mahamane Ousmane (44%).

Figures that the opposition, which claims victory, disputes.
