Potsdam (dpa / bb) - Brandenburg is planning further loosening of lockdowns not only on the basis of a rigid incidence of new corona infections.

Other factors such as the vaccination rate achieved and the burden on the health system would also have to be taken into account, said Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD) on Friday at a video conference with the Brandenburg Chambers of Crafts and Commerce and Industry prior to the deliberations of the regional leaders with Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) on March 3rd.

"We have to live with the virus for a while, but we can't keep the lockdown going forever," said Woidke.

But we definitely have to be very careful well into the second quarter.

Robert Wüst, President of the Brandenburg Chamber of Crafts, emphasized that it was important to involve business in all further discussions and concepts in order to enable all industries to return to work and training as quickly as possible.
